The dos scandisk has always been dreadfully slow on the 50 - I got so bored
with it I turned it off (and I'm damned if I can remember where but I think
it was in windows.sys - someone will no doubt correct me) and check it with
the windows version. That's still quite slow but the file system check - as
opposed to the surface scan - isn't too bad...
