Usually on desktops the hdd light lights permanently when the cable is the
wrong way... I suppose it is not possible here? :-)

Try a fdisk from something other than ms-dos. Try the one from dr-dos, I
hear it gives good results with difficult disks/partitions. Search yahoo for
dr-dos, it can be dl.

Have you looked at www.bootdisk.com for further possibilities?

Norton Ghost has a gdisk utility, I think a 30 day trail can be dl. Norton
also has disk utilities that may help i diagnoses.

If all else fails, try using one of these disk utilities that provide
support for large disks, the name slips my mind at the moment. Or is the
moment slipping by my mind? :-) Dl from the disk manufacturer.
