The problem is Win95 does not support FastIR found on L100/110. Toshiba once
released a virtual serial port driver to let this fast IR port on L100 act
as a COM port. It works for some application but may not work with your cell
phone. To get the IR port fully functional, you need Win98/SE/ME or Win2000
and the driver is included in these OSes.

when I ran the program it briefly reported an <internal software error> but
when I closed the error message window the program appeared to be running
but did not detect my cellphone whilst it was IR-transmitting... I DO have
the modem software for the cellphone on cd rom but when I tried to install
it BEFORE I was aware of the Win95 IRDA update it would not complete the
installation. Ericsson (the cellphone manufacturer) stated that I needed to
ensure I had the right windows software before I install their software. You
may be wondering why I have not taken the next logical step - i.e.
installing the Ericsson software - reason is that I am not confident that
the windows IRDA software is working properly yet so would be just adding to
my problems. When I installed the windows software I selected <Generic
Infrared Device> and let it choose a COM port for me... something that may
be of significance is that when I closed the application (from the icon on
sys tray) I got a <ERROR COM5> warning... so even more confusion. One final
point to make is that during the deinstallation of the Windows IRDA software
(I was worried that things were going to get messed up in my registry) I
also uninstalled the <Generic IRDA Device> - dont ask why but I did! I now
have an UNKNOWN DEVICE in my device manager listings and for a long time
when this device was detected on boot-ups my p.c. could NOT find any drivers
for it. I presume the <unkown device> is my Libretto's IRDA hardware but am
mystified regards how to reinstall it properly (I got windows to search ALL
my Windows and Toshiba floppy disks when trying to find drivers but no joy).
