Subject: Re: Lib Power in Car
On my car (a Tempo) the Cig connector is Disconnected during start. In fact
if I do NOT have the battery in the Lib it will turn off during starting. As
soon as the key is released it comes back on. My Lincoln is the same as is
my LeSharo Motor Home.
This is misleading. If your cigarette lighter truly goes dead during crank
it is not wired the way the factory made it.
Imports DO only make the cigarette lighter hot during run, which is annoying
when I want to charge my phone. But every Ford/Lincoln/Mercury I have come
across has the cigarete lighter socket hot all the time.
If your Libretto, connected directly to the lighter without a battery
shudder ) goes off during cranking it is indicitive of the voltage swinging
wildly during crank.
I promise I will try to step out of this thread at this point.
