I agree with Lawrence that changing the Li-ion batteries to Nicd or Nimh is
dangerous.  I popped open the battery case and saw 3 AA sized batteries.  A
Nicd/Nimh battery is only rated at 1.2v so that should give me a total of
3.6 volts.  Very different from the printed 10.5 volts printed on the
battery cover.

I'm still open to suggestions on what to do with the battery before it goes
to the trash bin.
