# I have installed the above on a libretto 70. i would be interested to know
# if anybody else has had a go and if so does their machine shut itself
# down? (APM) All APM seems ok except for the shutdown (if I say halt).
# I assume that I need to recompile aswell for the sound?

(Which release of FreeBSD/PAO?) .. I installed 4.1.1-RELEASE (not PAO,
which is being merged into the normal cvs tree, as of 4.0-RELEASE or
something like that..) on my 50ct a while ago.. everything works great
for me except my pcmcia (SCSI) cdrom, which I really haven't attempted
to make work anyway.. supposedly supported by the ncr(?) driver, and
my multifunction modem/ethernet card.. the modem works, but ethernet
does not.

Try shutting down like this: "shutdown -p now" and see if it solves
your problem.

As for sound.. yes it requires a kernel recompile, or, maybe there are
kld modules available with your release.. there aren't with mine, afaik.
Use the newpcm stuff (device pcm ; device sbc) instead of the voxware
drivers, thats what I did, if my memory hasn't left me yet ;)
