Usually, on most PCs, one would see the devices, remove both, reboot, and
let it autodetect them again. whatever shows up should ask for the proper
drivers, and point them at whatever Toshiba gives. If not, simply change the
drivers it has to the right ones under Device Manager. That assuming the
Toshiba drivers don't just automatically install themselves.
After getting everything installed correctly, you can also boot into
safe-mode and remove all the other previously incorrectly detected devices --
gettting rid of those useless entries speeds up the the boot as Windows doesn't
have to sit and look for each one.
As for the sound, you did double-click on the sound-icon and turn everything
up to 100% right? Not just master volume, but also WAVE volume, etc?
