I saw one of these in the back right corner above the PC Card slot. It was
soldered on, and square as you describe. I thought it was probably a fuse.
I looked around David's site and around the web, but couldn't find any
graphics of component layout to track down fuse positioning. Only found
that Japanese site with some graphics of the process of overclocking.
I'll have to see if I can borrow a meter somewhere... otherwise it'll have
to wait 'till I get back to California and figure out what I'm going to do
with my life out there! :-)

That sounds do-able. It could very well be that one of those fuses did in
fact blow. I was worried while I had the lid w/LCD from the used 70CT on my
trusty 50CT. I thought I saw the screen blink a few time once... though
there are times it does that for non-threatening reasons. But seemed it
blinked at an odd point. I began to wonder if there might have been
something in the 70CT lid that had caused the bottom end to go out. Not
wanting that to happen to the 50CT, I quick put the 50CT lid/LCD from the
70CT back on the 50CT.

Right... If I can't get this system going again, I'd really like to get an
old 70CT from someone on the list who is the original owner, and has had no
problems, or few if any major problems with it.

Wonder if his posts are in the archies online.
Thanks again for your input Neil! When are you heading to CA? Got your
road-rage defense kit? :-0
