As far as I know, all you have to do is insert something small (but not
sharp like a needle) into the hole. The switch is like a button -- you
should feel it click when you depress it.

I installed Linux over an Ethernet connection, but unfortunately, Windows 95
can't be installed this way. You can probably use a PCMCIA CD-ROM (although
I don't own one), or stick the hard drive in a laptop that has a CD-ROM
drive to copy the installation files. I do know that Windows 95 had a
version installable from floppies ....

Sounds like you need to set up the BIOS. When your system boots, hold down
the escape key until you see "Check System. Then press [F1] key" (or
something to that effect). From there, you can select from options like
hibernate (save to HD), suspend (save to RAM), activate suspend when the lid
closes, and so on.
With Linux installed, I close the lid and the computer goes to sleep in
about two seconds. When I reopen the lid, I'm back to where I was in just a
few seconds. It's so good, in fact, that I'm writing custom software and
using my Libretto to replace my Palm Vx. Of course, now I have to carry it
around in my backpack ...

Hope that helps!
