Robbert, I have a small box from Hawking that shares serial/modem-based internet connections, it was about $50, but that is a mediocre solution(it requires a Win client be installed for configuration, but not use). I also have an SMC Barricade cable/dsl router, and it has a serial fall-back if no WAN connection available on the 10baseT connection. It has a four port switch, a printer router, and can act as a DHCP server, etc. These are widely available for about $50 after rebates... This is a very nice solution, IMHO (then you only need to leave the router on, not another whole computer...
