"Safest way" ... or do you just need to know how to take it apart? Here's what I have for the 50/70CTs... I've actually never done it: We've talked about carefully plying off the screw covers with a small, sharp pointy knife blade and saving them in a clean place, removing the 2 screws, and pointer cap. Then there are 13 latches that hold the two sides together. There are 6 on the bottom by the hinges. 2 of these are above each hinge, and the other 4 spaces evenly between the hinges. There is one in the middle of the left side, one in the middle of the right side, and one at the top edge of the right side. The top has one on the left edge, one above the left edge of the screen, one above the middle of the screen, and one above the right side of the screen. I've read, "Carefully insert the fingers of both hands between the mask and the LCD panel and release the latches, starting with the 5 latches in the upper part of the display mask." I'd like to know what they mean by, "insert the fingers of both hands between the mask and the LCD panel." Seems to me there's about 0mm clearance there! "Continue to release the display mask, using fingers of both hands, on the sides and bottom." It took me a while to figure out how to separate the latches on the top and bottom case halves... I'm a pro at this point!
