Neil,

I had similar problems when I was swapping top ends between the 50CT and 
70CT.  By mistake I grabbed a couple parts I had laid out from one, and 
started putting in the other.  The ribbon from the keyboard, I think it was 
the one from the 70CT, was too wide to get into the slot on the 50T.  I 
would have to had trim that to get it in.  A couple weeks back, I put a 
cover for one HDD slot onto the other case.  It sat at a little bit of 
angle, and not squarely for a good fit.

Another thing that's either different or worn on the 50CT is the right lid 
hinge.  I've noticed that the fit had been really sloppy, and I can move the 
lid up and down a bit in the hinge socket (..this was one of the original 
line of 50CTs with the serial mouse problem.. so maybe more things were 
improved later).  The first thing I noticed about the 70CT when I got it 
fired up was how tight the fit is on its lid hinges.
