Unless you can find a disk already made up, making a boot disk that will load PCMCIA card services, ATA services and then the CD-ROM drive is NOT a trivial matter unfortunately ... the EPR shouldn't make a difference though from the perspective that the Libby doesn't see it as a docking station (thank goodness ... otherwise you'd need to load drivers for THAT as well!). All up it took us a day at work to get a similar thing happening with a Portege (we were making a boot floppy and image CD set that we could give employees so if they wanted it reimaged they just needed to plug the floppy and CD-ROM drives in, put in the boot floppy and image CD and reboot). Things weren't made any easier by the fact that the DOS drivers for the PCMCIA CD-ROM drive we were using were buggy and the documentation got some of the critical details wrong. I'll have a poke around and see if I can't find the procedure or a sample of the disk we ended up using ... of course if anyone else has a quicker way of doing things then do speak up! On the other hand, if you have a network card you might as well format the hard drive, boot with a network card driver disk (which is often a LOT easier to make than one for CD-ROM drives and which you can often find ready made disks for), copy the files to the hard drive from another computer and install from the local hard drive. Which is the other thing, especially with PCMCIA devices, NEVER install Windows from an external device, ALWAYS copy the \win95 or \win98 directory to the local hard drive, reboot off a CLEAN floppy (no CD-ROM drivers) then start the install. Saves you a lot of hassles in the long run.
