  Believe windvd is the more 'efficient' one based on reviews, etc.  But you'll
need to double-check their website for lowest system requirements, etc.

  A quick search for FOSI websites and so forth may bring up a copy to test
quickly if a regular demo isn't available.

  For desktop users, a hardware video card or dedicated DVD decoder card like
Hollywood Magic is recommended for ultimate performance and quality regardless
of CPU speed.

  eg. with a Hollywood Magic and All-In-Wonder card in my system, simultaneous
playback of a DVD, TV show, and VCD in three different windows while surfing
on-line or doing whatever else works just fine - no problems here short of the
limited monitor space to put all of these windows.
