Well for the mp3's I planned on using it in the vehicle so I will hook it up to the amp.. As far as walking around they have an external amp for mp3 and minidisk players.. Or maybe its for the pocketpc's probbay pocketpcs.. And then you can use it with headphones.. Too bad its not quick enough for a dvd player so it could be my media center conroler for the car.. -----Original Message----- From: David Chien [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, January 03, 2002 11:53 PM To: Libretto Subject: Re: [LIB] Swapping a 20gig hd Date: Thu, 3 Jan 2002 21:49:53 -0800 (PST) From: David Chien <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Re: [LIB] Swapping a 20gig hd check my priorpost on this in the Libretto Mailing List archives last month or two. basically, linux will see the entire 20gb w/o any disk manager software required. people have tested and found different values - guess it depends on which HD you have and which OS you use and which Libretto you have. but, in general, around the 1024 cylinder is where the hibernation data gets dumped. for me, that's about 1015 cyd. to about 1025 as I vaguely recall on my 20gb Hitachi (a steal btw off ebay.com for $75 - check, that guy is probably still selling truck loads of 20GB Hitachi's cheap) with ez-drive 9.06 and windows installed. for you, linux users can use that one post by a Linux user with a short program that'll determine exactly where it lies - see list archives. otherwise, simply avoid cylinders 1010 to 1030 and most likely, you'll be far out of bounds of where the hibernation data will get stored. -- oh, you can also determine where it all goes manually. once you have a basic os installed, run any program that'll clear out the empty areas of the HD. next, using a hd hex sector editor, walk the sectors around 1024 cylinder until you've determined the extent of the hibernation area. then, partition around that leaving a cylinder or ten free on both sides just in case. that's how I did it on my L110. -- in any case, guess we're thinking the same - already got my first three MP3 albums loaded onto my libretto, and 20+ more to go ;) only thing that hurts is you can't really crank up the speaker volume much on the Libretto, so trying to listen to music while walking around the bookstore with a closed Libretto playing MP3s is just a bit distant-sounding. was thinking it would be nice if there was a 'boombox' speaker attachment for the Libretto ,) d =) ===== adorable toshiba libretto The latest news and information for the Toshiba Libretto owner. http://www.silverace.com/libretto/ __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
