Hi! Sorry, a bit late, but... > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > ... but IR in W95 is not too good either. Not exactly true. My LibSS1000 with W95 OSR2 is as stable with FIR networking using HP Netbeam (bought for $15 on ebay) as it was with wired LAN connection. Also seems to work fine with my Ericsson R320s phone. However, it takes installing QuickBeam Suite (ftp://ftp.extendsys.com/qbs/92100650.exe) to get FIR support. Actually, 4 Mb/s = 200 KB/s in real transfer speed, but I don't really feel the difference from 10 Mb/s Ethernet. Also, power management is surely worse under W98. Most people get measurable difference in battery time in favour of W95 (yes, this might be only due to the fact that W98 in "heavier" but when I tried W98 I noticed WinAmp skip for a while every time the screen went off after timeout and that was it for me :)). Anybody tried W98 in APM mode? Best wishes, Vitaly ************************************************************** http://libretto.basiclink.com - Libretto mailing list http://libretto.basiclink.com/archive - Archives http://www.picante.com/~gtaylor/portable/faq.html - FAQ -------TO UNSUBSCRIBE------- Reply to any of the list messages.
