I second the nomination. EAC is free, fast, accurate, and yes, especially, it's free. Lately I encode to .mp3 in a separate step using Audiograbber/LAME, because after the first auto-rip/encode with EAC/LAME, LAME isn't working properly, and I haven't troubleshot (troubleshooted?) it yet.
