Pitty it'd run hot as all hell seeing it has a desktop processor in it (yes I know, Intel doctored the Northwood to be a de-facto mobile processor but thermal management is still nowhere near as good as for a proper mobile chip) ... you were wondering why they needed a 12 cell pack when everyone else managed with 6? Gimme the Toshiba Satellite 5105 anyday ... PROPER mobile P4 1.7, GeForce4 440 Go 32 meg (still beats the Radeon), 15" 1600x1200 screen (as opposed to the 1024x780 on the Winbook), DVD-ROM/CDRW, dual smartmedia/securedigital slotsn (plus the usual dual type II or 1 type III PCMCIA slot unlike the Winbook's single type II), cPad touchpad, subwoofer (not that it needs it, judging by the speakers on the other members of the Toshiba range), half a gig of ram expandable to 1 gig ... and it actually LOOKS good too and doesn't need a heavy 12 cell battery pack (cutting its weight by over a kilogram compared to the loaded Winbook). Plus Toshiba actually has international support ... try getting your Winbook fixed in Australia for instance. - Raymond --- /~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~\ | | "Does fuzzy logic tickle?" | | ___ | "My HDD has no reverse.
