Well, all I'm doing is downloading digital pictures from my camera. When
I download, it takes 4 secs per picture to DL, then there's over 30 seconds of
VM paging, 4 secs to do pic 2, 30 secs of VM paging, etc, etc. On my desktop
486, with 128mb ram, 4 to DL, 2 to crunch, 4 to Dl again, etc. It's just
insane.
I have asked this list for help before in upgrading my ram, only to get
no to negative help and remarks from people. I have had some wonderful help
from some people who have sent me parts for free over the years, even when I
insisted to pay them. So it's a mixed bag of nuts here.
My panasonic just arrived today. I tested it out, and it seems on teh
ball. HD is blanked, but I just finished installign 98. It has 16mb of ram.
Not an improvement over the 70ct. However it's EDO SODIMM slot is what makes
teh cake. I took the 64mb EDO SODIMM out of a friend's Toshiba and put it into
this just to see if it'd take 64mb. It did! He needed it back as unlike this,
his has no build in MB ram and required this back.
So, after a week of burning in my panasonic, I'll get rid of this horrid
little Libretto and will be gone from this list forever. It was fun to have
it, but I'm sick of it.
In a week, I'll make this list an offer, complete with photos, downloaded
using my far batter laptop. If in 24 hours there's no takers, I'll drop it on
ebay, post to the list one final time, and unsubscribe.

Nothing personal, I'm just tired of it.
