so I figured I'd format it in the libby first. Therein lies the problem ... does anyone know how to format a SM card as FAT12 from within Windows
Raymond,

I've just gone through figuring out formatting CF cards, and it seems that ALL removable disks are formatted Windows as FAT12 by default. I confirmed this both from a reply to a post to the Compuserve Windows support group, as well as using Norton DiskEdit and looking at the partition info for some of the floppy disks I have.

If you have a PC card SM reader for the Lib, or a USB version for your PC, and the SM card can be recognized by them, then just right-click the drive in My Computer, and choose 'Format'. I've done this several times successfully now.

Matt
