Recall of course that 100MHz band radio laughs at DC switches - you need to 
arrange it so that the incoming aeriel is grounded or terminated in its 
characteristic impedance - probably 75 ohms - when the widget is required.

If you don't do this, there's a likelihood of transmitting your own material 
using the car aeriel.
