Recall of course that 100MHz band radio laughs at DC switches - you need to
arrange it so that the incoming aeriel is grounded or terminated in its
characteristic impedance - probably 75 ohms - when the widget is required.
So would setting up a switch to short the center lead of the coax cable coming from the antenna to ground be enough to do the trick? I'm not sure what you mean in your reference, 'terminated in its
characteristic impedance'.

If you don't do this, there's a likelihood of transmitting your own material using the car aeriel.
Heh... Are you saying that by having a switch box where the antenna cable is merely connected and disconnected from a secondary cable fed into the radio, and not shorted to ground, that I'd be able to broadcast my MP3 playlist to my buddy's car radio travelling alongside me in the next lane? That'd be cool! But do you think this little IRock adapter really has that kind of power?

What's cooking on that side of the big puddle Neil? Any vacation plans for Brazil this year? I'd think the currency conversion would be great at this point.

Matt
