Wow... you're out in Long Beach Chester? I was out there for a couple of years. They out to be about ready to set things up for the races at this point.

So who pays for all this free Internet access? The local Chambers of Commerce and local taxpayers?

Matt

To wireless access points spread throughout the airport, cafes and big city hotels. My
Libby card will usually find the access
point transmission and automatically be configured by Win2K to then connect the laptop to
the internet. There are some
broadcast standards that aren't automatically configured but there is usually a notice of
what the standard is in any
particular facility that I can manually configure to for connection. Pretty slick all in
all! The City of Long Beach, CA just this
week has wirelessed their downtown core area for just such access. One can sit in a cafe,
hotel room, car, meeting room or
wherever and connect to the internet - and be able to move around the entire area without
losing the connection. They will
soon extend this service outside of the downtown area to the rest of Long Beach - and it's
all at no cost to the user!

Chester
