My life needs changing, but the combination of spousal non-sympathy and unemployed status may preclude the cable install, at least for the time being. I have digital phone lines (not DSL, just digital service) and can get a reported 53,333 bps at connection and upwards of 48,000 bps afterwards, as indicated by various web site-based measurements. My strategy here is to get wireless, then when all the cables disappear the wife will be so happy she'll sign off on the cable install!
