From: David Chien <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>With me it's just a matter of not being in any hurry. I don't do anything on a computer that demands it work from one day to the next. If I have problems with one, I always have a few others. If I want data from a busted one, I can always slap its HDD in another one. People just have a tendency to be in way too much of a hurry these daze, whether or not things are actually high priorities. Hecks... no one has enough time to actually sit down and prioritize any more... so they just get frantic about doing everything. In the back of my head I can always hear the Aussie surfers met at some remote beach in Baja saying, "No worries mahite."
True, but then again, it depends on what type of character you are. Some poeple will spend forever to hunt for the cheapest bargin around (I'd say 60% of the time for me) using every possible means to get a great deal, some will pay whatever no matter what or when (I'd say 10% me), and the rest will be somewhere in between.
Naturally, there's a point for everyone where spending way too much time hunting down just that one little component will waste huge amounts of hours of your time. When that's the case, just get it over with a buy the part. Otherwise, yahoo.com and other places will help you search for these hard-to-get parts.
In any case, I've never had a problem with micsol.com. Just ask for whatever and it ships. Nice to know that you can get whatever, whenver, if you can pay their price.Well... Micro Solutions' price on that top half of the case base for the 100CT is $37 as opposed to what it turns out to be the same component from Impact for $45. So depending on shipping costs, I'll probably eventually order it from them, or TohshibaSpareParts if trolling for a replacement here doesn't come up with anything. It's not like this 100CT won't work with a couple crack in the case. I just thought if I'm going to pull the system apart to o/c it, I might as well replace the cracked case sections at the same time.
