Do you know if all the parts of the floppy disk that got stuck in the drive actually came out (taking careful note of the presence of the shutter return spring)? If that gets stuck inside the FDD I imagine it could cause a fair amount of havoc! In fact, do you know why the floppy disk got stuck? Is it something obvious like a bent shutter? Or was it a case of the eject button jamming for no particular reason?
Other than that, the only thing I can think of is to open up the FDD (it's well out of warranty anyway, you've got nothing to lose!) and check for any 'obvious' damage. Typical might be if the stuck FDD managed to wrench a wire or two loose or a head retaining mount bent or something. Worst case is damage to the heads themselves but the mechanism is such that they should retract well away before the disk even starts coming up and out of the slot.
Good luck!

Well, this doesn't portend well. Just as I began the upgrade of my L100 to a
40GB Travelstar/Hitachi (BTW, the HDD light stays on, dammit) the EZBIOS
floppy hung up in the YE Data floppy drive. After some wiggling, inning and
outing, I got it to release. Now, all I get is: Disk I/O error with any disk I
try. Must have buggered up the innards somehow.
Any chance the drive is repairable by me? Anyone had this problem? Thanks - guess I'll be looking on ebay.
