It felt as though the floppy disk shutter caught on a component of the floppy 
drive.  The eject button worked and released the floppy, but it wouldn't 
slide out of the drive.  No parts of the floppy disk were lost.  I did some minor 
surgery (butchery may be the better term) and determined that one shouldn't 
try to disassemble the floppy drive.  Succeeded only in further ruining the 
drive - no discoveries.

In any event, a guy was selling new, boxed PA2940U drives on ebay, so I 
bought one.  And afterward (of course) found someone selling new PA2612U drives for 
the same price ($25) but free shipping - in case anyone needs one.

BTW, any hot tips on setting up my L100CT for dual-boot W2K and W98se?
