I also got just one device listed there, but it's called "YAMAHA
OPL3-SAx WDM driver".

Again, same here. But in the Control Panel, under Multimedia, I see all
devices (except joystick) listed.

IIRC I did roughly the same, but rather during installation of Win98
itself (I installed it on a logical partition, using the
Windows\Options\Cabs\... tree and setup.exe therein, I also copied
sound/floppy/video drivers there).
File version.txt says "Yamaha OPL3-SA Windows 95/98 Sound driver
v.4.05.2338"; it's from L110snd9.exe (not l100snd8.exe).

You might try other drivers:
- p301snd9.exe (probably for Portege)
- s253snd9_OPLSA3x.exe (ditto?)
I d/led those two a while ago from the Toshiba site just out of
curiosity, both seemed to work but I did not test all of them very
thoroughly.
