I also got just one device listed there, but it's called "YAMAHA OPL3-SAx WDM driver". > I have no joystick driver, synthesizer, or any of the other components that > I used to have installed on the L70 after installing its sound drivers. Again, same here. But in the Control Panel, under Multimedia, I see all devices (except joystick) listed. > I tried running the setup.exe in the l100snd8.exe archive, but ended up with > a yellow ! in DM for the Yamaha driver it installed. IIRC I did roughly the same, but rather during installation of Win98 itself (I installed it on a logical partition, using the Windows\Options\Cabs\... tree and setup.exe therein, I also copied sound/floppy/video drivers there). File version.txt says "Yamaha OPL3-SA Windows 95/98 Sound driver v.4.05.2338"; it's from L110snd9.exe (not l100snd8.exe). You might try other drivers: - p301snd9.exe (probably for Portege) - s253snd9_OPLSA3x.exe (ditto?) I d/led those two a while ago from the Toshiba site just out of curiosity, both seemed to work but I did not test all of them very thoroughly.
