To try resolving my problems with just the TDK card's audio >playback< breaking up after 30-45 minutes, I'm now in the process of running the free version of 98Lite on an old 750MB HDD with a basic Win98SE Ghost image restored to it. It's removing IE at the moment. I'm not sure how much else the free version can tweak. I'll set up the TDK card, let it play for a while and report back. > In the long term, this may be a difficult > problem to resolve w/o stripping > the system down to just a base install of W98 + TDK > drivers, and I'll have to > find some time someday to do this after backing up > my 20GB HD. I remember trying to tweak those EZ-Drive settings on my L70 last year when I was trying to get that old WavJammer sound card we were playing with to record, and didn't have any luck there myself. The image file I've just restored was one made with just the basic W98SE installation to my L70. Though I don't know if there may have been ways to eliminate any resource hungry components when I 1st installed and imaged W98SE. You might have a go at the free copy of 98Lite too David.
