The only laptop out prior was the Sony U50/70 series with LED backlit screen - the only one in the world at that time. But, because it has such a small screen, has a matte finish for the touch-screen, and is probably powered to have a long battery life rather than a bright screen, it's okay. Nothing amazing when I look at it in-store, and certainly no better than a regular $499 notebook screen.
