I agree its not a good thing, perhaps Licq should not blindly accept all status change packets if the status hasn't changed, but if a status change message was missed previously like say someone went into away mode and the packet was lost in transit and then an on-line state packet was recieved when the person came back from away mode, but Licq drops the packet, would this not also be percieved as a flaw? > is not a good thing. Yes, Trillian produces the behavior that makes the > problem obvious, but its existed for a long time. A better solution would be an option to turn off the notify for certain users (i.e. Trillian users). This is something that indeed can be fixed in Licq, but should most definately be fixed in Trillian as it is a non-standard behaviour which could affect clients other than just Licq. > Though since the event is called "_Online_ Notify", it really should be > playing only when: > (a) User changes status from offline to any online status. > (b) User changes status to Online, Invisible, or Free to Chat from any of the > "away" statuses. > I feel your pain brother. I just wish Trillian were opensource, I'd fix it for ya ;-) -Stan ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by: OSDN - Tired of that same old cell phone?
