I've also had problems with the messages arriving garbled, e.g. as a mix
of chinese and undisplayable (square box) characters. It should be
plain english. But this second problem hasn't occured since running the
cvs version yesterday, i'll make another post if it does occur again.



What is the per user encoding set for with this user?


A friend of mine using icq-lite gets a very similar problem. For her the message characters are a bunch of squares of different sizes. So, could well not be a problem in licq
