The fact it's real-time is excellent. It's the right amount of info/code to whet someone's appetite to dive into Lift a bit more. And since the amount of code is small, someone would be able to follow along easily.
The areas of improvement would be upping to production levels a bit. The PeepCode screencasts are what come to mind as a standard to aspire to. Nice stuff. I've been knocking the idea around with Derek and Marius for screencasts. I think it's a logical extension of the book.
