As a test, I rewound a branch to right before
74e4d219b24ec6d6f28d663c0285418e6c8e122e and applied everything but the
changes in define-grobs.scm. After making a couple tweaks to get it to
compile, nothing bad happened. So, the problem must arise in the
combination of the two. Will do more digging later.
