first of all: it's great to see you working on this again!
I was using your patch (patchset 8 to be precise) ever since you published
it, and i was always pleased with the results. (there are a few cases
where the new rendering was slightly worse, but it wasn't very
irritating). I barely noticed the increased filesize.
I have tested this patchset (10th) on 4 different viewers (Acroread,
XChange Viewer, Okular and Evince) and the output looked better than output
form master in each case.
