I'm cool with the workaround
I know you are a mortal enemy of the Pure_from_neighbor_engraver, but it
will fight until it breathes its last pure breath. I'm a fan of it
conceptually as it helps stubby objects take their heights from the objects
they need to block - no bigger, no smaller. It can always be made to work
better, but at its core I think that the concept is intuitively satisfying
and matches up with how we do these things when we do them by hand.
