Putting to Needs_work according to how I understand the discussion, in
particular comment #4 and the followup #5.
I'd have two more suggestions, namely providing MensuralStaff via an
optional (symbol? 'MensuralStaff) argument and adding an optional
(context-mod? (ly:make-context-mod)) argument behind it so that one can
write
\incipit GregorianStaff \with { \override StaffSymbol.color = #green }
{ ... }
or similar (I don't know the details off-hand).
If you feel fuzzy about this, just go ahead without it, and once you have a
version with an incipit command in ly/music-functions-init.ly, I'll use
Rietveld to add the suggestions to the specific lines it concerns.
