The previously used (it was in snippets/new) bar symbol -- @code{.|:} --
was correct here. The dot before the pipe symbol is missing.

The input is correct, the description is wrong:
@code{|:} bar line can be printed at the beginning of a piece.
should be
@code{.|:} bar line can be printed at the beginning of a piece.
