I agree, but I don't think we ever had such dependencies (except maybe
temporarily, by mistake).

Maybe that's a chicken-and-egg problem.  I implemented bare-bones
PostScript, 80% of the job (simplistic titles, simplistic page layout,
cumbersome font lookup).  If noone seems interested, that's where we
stop.  Before doing the last 20% that takes twice as long and noone
will use.  Same goes for SVG output and a number of FOO2ly import
scripts.

Point taken; you don't need texinfo CVS.
