A question to people having some experience with a wider range of scores: Is this avoid-slur setting doing more harm than it helps? >From Sharon's mails, and some tests, I get the impression that more often than not, the slur looks worse with the default settings and \override Dots.avoid-slur = #'ignore makes it look better. I could find only very artificial cases in which a slur comes close to a dot and I could not find any collision.
