Hello all !

I've been working for some time with friends on songs/hymns engraving
and arrangement. Over the years I kinda developed or rather assembled
a custom framework (with a lot of benefit from various sources
including doc, LSR and useful tips and help from this list - thanks
!), in order to avoid duplicating common code, as most hymns can be
sorted into few different structures.

The idea was also to be able to reuse parts of a song/hymn to build
several versions of them (right now I have lead-sheet, SATB and men
chorus), and to allow automatic compilation using a set of scripts and
makefiles.

If I remember correctly, generic SATB templates were not existing in
Lilypond when I started, and later were lacking some features I wanted
(such as repeats, DC al Fine). The thing is in a usable state at least
for me, though a bit messy and not publicly available (no idea if this
would be of some help for others).

Now I would like to build on my current framework to typeset some
arrangements, mainly for voices with small ensemble, keeping the same
philosophy: having common template files somewhere, avoid duplicate
code instantiating staves to focus on musical content and have some
kind of automated compiling.

I could try to add these templates in my current framework, but I feel
that these arranged scores will be more varied than what I used
previously, i.e. lead-sheets and congregation SATB. Also I know that
others have developed some comparable tools over the years :
OrchestralLily (R. Kainhofer), lalily (JP Voigt), the nenuvar-lib (N.
Sceaux), and maybe some I'm not aware of. So if something is usable in
my case, I'm more than happy to use it rather than reinventing the
wheel.

Any thought on this ?
>From what I've seen online, some of these may not be maintained
anymore. Also, each time I look at them wanting to use them, I
struggled to find some entry point and document to start.

Many thanks in advance for your insights :)
Yann
