Hello All.

Let's take the "Which distribution is better" question seriously. How many of us can
really give an educated answer to this very simple question?

Isn't it the core thing we should discuss every now and then? Besides from being the
"Haifa Linux (Fan?) Club", we are also the "Haifa Linux User Group". And I think we
should take advantage of it.

I think that we should, from time to time, make a meeting in which people tell about
their experiences with different distributions / hardware. This very valuable info
comes in fragments during our regular meetings, when people occasionally complain
about their own distributions.

My personal bottom line is that I intend to buy a new computer, but I can't make an
educated choice of which Linux to install on it. Is Red Hat 8.0 good for me? Mandrake
9.0? What's new in these versions?

We all install Linux somewhere from time to time, but we almost never share our
delightments nor our disappointments. I agree with Adir that the choice depends on
our own taste, but at least to me, the choice of Linux is quite blind. And you really
don't know what you got until you've already deep into the system.

So what do you say? Should we have a "I installed XXX two months ago on YYY and this
is what I got" session soon? Any speakers?

Regards,

   Eli
