Coyotes are opportunists. There are many different types of tasty snacks for coyotes around here -- rabbits, squirrels, turkeys, chipmunks, fawns and sick deer, etc. Coyotes are more likely to go after chickens and cats if they are allowed to roam. From what I can tell, Codman has managed their poultry so that they are well-protected.
