As a resident of 2A I tell you this road is ridiculously unsafe. While I
advocated early for a separated bike/pedestrian lane it seems with this
repaving the best we can do is a few crosswalks and slightly more room for
bikers. Sara I invite you to ride down it with your kids as they learn to
bike, or try to walk to our neighbors houses on Sunnyside and Brooks.
Flashing lights are a very small price to pay to slow down cars going 50+
MPH. And, to be clear, the minuteman trail is gorgeous, but not a bike
path, it's rough gravel that is not plowed in the winter, with boardwalk
sections that require walking your bike over. Agree with Margaret
completely on this.
