Hi,

I have been hearing this call a lot recently, too! I figured it was a juvenile (owl or other bird;) thanks for sharing the recording.

It was freaking out my kids because it was right outside their bedroom window and I was totally confused because I didn’t realize the juveniles made that call. The closest thing I could think of was a screech owl but that wasn’t it.

Ive got some bird calling outside my house every night in the past weeks. It sounds like an ascending raspy slide whistle. I would have thought screech owl but it doesn’t sound quite right and I thought their call was descending?
