A comprehensive list of compostable versus non-compostable items is given on
the Black Earth website:

One tricky item is produce stickers – they are not compostable and must be
removed.

Could you please tell us what the non-compostable items were? (So people don't
repeat that mistake.) Thank you!

Due to cross-contamination of non-compostable items in the compost bins, Black
Earth refused the bins on Wednesday. Therefore, the compost container will be
closed on Saturday, October 11, as we work to resolve this situation. Compost
material can be placed in the household trash or brought back on Wednesday.
Please do not leave compost material outside the container. Thank you for
your cooperation and we apologize for the inconvenience.

Thank you.
