Have you used your custom fonts with an HTML member?
I know you were asking Slava this question, and that if you were to ask me the same my answer would be "No", but that being said I'd like to suggest that you ensure your custom font is in castLib 1 and in a low numbered slot, perhaps even with preload set on it. My reasoning is that you may need Director to have "seen" and/or loaded the font member before any text members that reference it. Worth a shot...
