Deciding to make that jump is entirely up to you but honestly, at this point neither Shockwave nor Director currently function as native MacIntel applications and therefore they'll be running under the Rosetta emulator which may or may not prove as "good" as your current experience. Combine that with the fact that you cannot have a MacIntel native app (Safari) load Rosetta-emulated plugins (Shockwave) it my not yet be the best time to jump, at least as far as Director & Shockwave are concerned, but you may have other reasons that encourage you to do so. We're already making plans on this front and as such I hope to come back at some point and happily inform you that the move is safe to make. And no, because I feel the questions coming, I can't discuss in detail timelines or specifics, sorry (I for one would hope that this sort of thing could be a Labs experience myself! :) ).
