Interesting. We also use Sorenson codec and find that Sorenson coded video looks great, but only as long as it is NOT SCALED. As soon as you scale it, you have nasty horizontal stripes, - looks similar to combining two half frames of video into one still frame. And this doesn't look great at all. The effect is clearly visible even if the footage was taken in full frames. And this is a specific behaviour of Sorenson. Whereas other codecs give you other artefacts. In my experience for scaling there's nothing better than MPEG.
