I agree with these numbers for use in multimedia. I would add that the Sorenson 3 commercial version adds variable bit rate compression and a few other enhancements compared to the free Sorenson codec, which brings the date rates down further while maintaining image quality.
I typically will export a movie from either Premiere or FCP (I use both) using the DV codec, then use Cleaner to do the final compression in Sorenson 3. I may be just trying to justify my purchase, but I think Cleaner 5 does better compression work. It puts a nicer (a.k.a understandable) interface on the Sorenson CODEC, along with other options for flattening and streaming.
